Variations: 3 ways to clean up your Yum dressing

Although the basic dressing works for everything, you sometimes want to try something different. Here are 3 general options for how we change the basic dressing:

Jazz No. 1: Replace part of the palm sugar with Thai Chili paste.

The basic dressing is pretty light. So if you want a more rich dressing, it is the right way to add Thai Chili paste. In addition to the wealth, it also adds a nice and unique taste. You can add more or less Thai Chili paste, but remember that chilli paste is sweet. The more you add, the less sugar you need. Different brands of chili pastes are not equally sweet, so that a certain tasting and adaptation is required here.

Jazz #2: In addition to the Chili paste, you can also add coconut milk.

This ensures a creamier dressing with a wonderful coconut taste. Note that coconut milk is usually added Additionally Chili paste, although you can try to only add coconut milk to the basic dressing if you want this – I don’t think it would be bad!

Jazz No. 3: Replace some of the fish sauce for those who love funky flavors Simply Ras Or shrimp paste.

Simply Ras is a kind of fermented fish sauce that differs from its normal fish sauce because it is made from freshwater fishing instead of anchovies, and it is much thicker because they have solved many fish bits into the sauce. It has a funky taste without which you can’t live, and it’s full of Umami. I love A Simply Ras Tighten because it feels better. You can add as much or as little as you want, depending on the desired level, but the more you use, the less fish sauce you need because both are salty.

Fermented shrimp paste (speak) is also a salty, funky ingredient, but it has a completely different aroma. I personally prefer a Simply Ras Dressing as one made of shrimp paste, but it is there for you as an option. However, if you have never had a shrimp paste, I would not suggest trying it the first time! I would probably be the first to fry with shrimp paste.

You can replace Plara with fish sauce in a ratio of 1: 1. For shrimp paste, I only add 1 teaspoon to the basic dressing and reduced the fish sauce to 1½ tablespoons. Tasting and adaptation is important here again, since different brands are not equally salty.

*This is the plane I like (Not sponsored) but you can also get this PLA RA from Amazon, which I have never had, but have heard good things about it. Rule of thumb for the purchase of pla ra: Modern brands with added herbs and spices tend to be more beginner -friendly. If the packaging looks the old school and very “authentic” and the ingredients look simple, it tends to be intense and these must be used with caution!
